Well its been a long night here in taking a break and so far all of my patients are being good, and sleeping well. Had an interesting Memorial day weekend Worked friday and Saturday night so Sunday I was off. We stayed home and BBQ chicken. My parents took of in the morning and went north and visited a Volcano in N New Mexico. They were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. What a great couple. Then today we had friend over and another BBQ(steak this time) YUMMY. then a short nap and off to work. I finally finished the hat for Rs daughter . I swear figuring out how to crochet a little flower took longer than making the hat itself. Im usually a knitter, so the hat was the easy part. R loved it and I'll see Aud in it sometime this week. I also finished the poncho. It turned out good, but I don't know if I've got enough nerve to wear a poncho even with the fringe. But it was good practice. I'm gonna make one for each of my neices. So I guess I had better go shopping for some yarn. Didi-Teal, Bean-dark blue, Monster-purple. Fun Fun Fun. Well breaks over good night:)

Quote for the day

"America is a large, friendly dog in a very small room. Every time it wags its tail, it knocks over a chair." - Arnold Toynbee... Done with the hat but trying to crochet some little flowers to embelish it, Aud gonna love it. Its kinda fun working on a project for a girl. My son doesn't much appreciate cute little hats. Then its back to the poncho. Finished the panels just need to sew it together and add the fringe. Its light country blue. We'll see how it looks. Not sure if its gonna be my color. Might have to send it to Bean in california. She would love it but it might be too big. Just have to wait and see. I guess the next project will be this red scarf kit I bought. Pretty color. Or maybe another baby blanket for K and C,(expecting in less than two weeks.
Well our weather has been hot. 80's. We've been putting in our garden. Have all the seeds germinating on the porch in cut water bottles. And they are growing like crazy. We had our garden in california. So now it will be interesting to see how it is out here in New Mexico. I have been researching alot at the library, on gardening and crop rotation. We've set aside a small 20x20 plot and have tilled and fenced it in. Now just have to add some potting soil and sand to our clay ground, and see what happens. Hopefully its close enough to the house the elk don't break in. It should be interesting. Well I had etter get lunch is over. Have a great day:)

I did not write this but wanted to save the info.
Think Pink Challenge
According to BreastCancer.org, a woman in the United states is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes! Over 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed each year, along with over 50,000 new cases of non-invasisve breast cancer. Breast cancer is the leacing cancer among white and African-American women, with the latter being more likely to die as a result. With statistics like these, it is very likely that if you're a woman reading this post, you have had, or know of someone who has had, a run-in of one sort or another with this incidious disease. It is terrifying, life-altering, and it cuts to the very core of our womanhood. But at the same time, I never cease to be amazed at the tremendous courage, encouragement and resilience I see from women who are fighting and those who have survived this cruel killer. There is much that needs to be done to fight this disease, and there is no shortage of opportunities to encourage and support those who are fighting it, to celebrate with its survivors and to support efforts to find a cure. Even though October is the official month for increasing Breast Cancer awareness, tell that to women who are diagnosed with this disease in February, May or December. Why wait until October when there are hundreds of thousands of women, their families and friends who are dealing with this dreaded disease at this very moment? There are a number of ways we can help, but there's one in particular that God has laid on my heart. My prayer is that through Soulful Knitting Ministries, we can collectively knit (or crochet) 1,000 pink scarves for women facing breast cancer. By taking the time to knit these scarves, and praying for the health and healing of their recipients in the process, we can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these women. God has shown me an image of a photograph of a mountain of beautiful pink scarves. By knitting this mountain, one scarf at a time, imagine the lives we can touch. So, I invite each of you to participate in the 1st Annual Think Pink Challenge. Here are the parameters:WHAT:A pink scarf (knit or crochet) in the pattern of your choice, using the yarn(s) of your choice.HOW MANY:At least one, but prayerfully, as many as you can between now and the end of September (more details to follow). Imagine if each of us committed to just one scarf a month between now and September! And of course, be sure to tell as many knitters about this as you can... the more the merrier!WHERE:Please send the scarves to me and I will arrange to have them sent to the American Cancer Society in time for their October Awareness drive. Besides, by sending them to me, I can have that photograph of the pink mountain taken and posted here! :)

SPECIAL NOTE - CALLING ALL DESIGNERS!!!If you'd like to design a special pink scarf for this project, please do so. Be sure to let me know that you have designed it when you send it in... 12 talented knitters could have their scarf pattern featured in a fundraising calender to raise even more money to fight Breast Cancer.

Well its been a crazy night so far all of my patients are freaking out. but enough about that LilD has been sick, but is on the mend. A dry hacking cough. Even missed school for half of friday he begged to go and didn't last an hour. Coughing so much he got sick. Lucky for Teacher D it was in the restroom. Poor little guy. He looks so pathetic when he's ill. But today running around and being a bratty 6 year old as usual.
Can you believe his kindergarten is having an official graduation with cap and gown. tassels and all. Its too funny, but hes excited. Our weather has been a warm 86 degrees today. Mom and Dad are back again from Cal. with another load, I didn't think they would ever be moved. But the house is actually empty. Still a couple of loads in the garage. BigD doing okay, he'll start his job with the state hospital the first of july. He's excited. And it has good benifits. Looks like my schedules gonna change a little and I'll be on PM shift. 3-11 How fun. :( Hope i can do it with my back. It should be interesting. Well I had better go lunch is over. See ya later:)
