Todays the day, the day you can be anything SHOW!!!!!
Wow I can't belive I wrote that almost two months ago. But you know what its been a crazy time. The holidays have come and gone. My dear uncle J has passed away. My other uncle B is having a pretty hard time dealing with losing his companion of 50 some years. Now hes the last brother left. So difficult. It was really hard to be festive this Christmas. But for the kiddo we pulled it off. NOW the good news the house is here can you belive it. But no electric or gas, The gas tank is sitting in the yard and the inspector is " on his way". Or as they say in New Mexico "menana"( i think there is supposed to be and accent on top of one of those letters but Oh well.)
We are all finally on the end of the cold that never ends and are just working in between snow storms, drfts and overall crazy weather. But we are surviving. AGH its gonna drive me crazy to not be in that house. Its just sitting down there cold and dark. We've allready put some furniture in. And just can't wait. Lil D's room is gonna be spider man and guess what the guest bathroom too :o) isn't that great... no its really not that bad. Hopefully we can get some pics uploaded soon. My computer is on the fritz and so thats why its been so long since my last posting. 11-27-06. We miss everyone and hope you all had a great holiday. huggs and prayers to all.
On the knitting front. Can you beleive I still have not finished the corset-t? still in my bag. I have however finished knitting a bunch of dishcloths to match our new kitchen. Peaches and cream. browns and greens. I received small cuts of favorite yarns from one of my on line KAL and my son decided to pack them in his toys, So that package must wait. I was gonna make a funky scarf. I finished a cool scarf for my husband its done in modular kintting and I forgot the pattern name. But he wore it one day to work and every one wants one now. AGH! No time.! My next project will be to make some simple lacy curtains for the kitchen. And trying to make some of those preprinted pillow cases from Wally world. they and done in very simple dark gold filigre. Its gonna look nice on our new bed. I've really just been making some little goofy things. Slippers for me and my son. a small pocket for my mom to sew in her new sweater. Trid some socks. AGH gotta get good yarn... Oh well gotta jet I will try to update weekly :o)

Well we made it
The family was all there except my great uncle J, Hes back in the hospital. Oh dear lord protect and keep him. He was sick again and still going to undergo tests to figure out whats wrong.
Almost ready to start piecing together the sweater for my friends baby.I got to see her and hold her the other day OMG what a doll. I can feel the wheels turning on all the things I could make for her... Well see...

HAPPY T_DAY
Oh the poor uncles, I don't think they have really been around this many crazy kids at once. They are probably in shock. Hopefully its not too hard on UJ. He is recovering slowly from his hospital stay. But he doesn't sound well. The doctor says the fluid sounds like its coming back (in his chest). I'm not even sure he will make it w/o a visit to the ER before
T-day.
I start a day of orientation at the hospital this week. Hopefully It goes well. I'm kinda nervous. But most of the staff is friendly and seem happy that I'll be joining them. I am gonna miss working at the state. Its been fun and I really like the staff I work with on two of the days. But I am certain this move is for the best. I really feel disconected from Nursing and ownership of my Job. Agency just offers none of what I need now. And now the new hours I'll be working will make all the diffference. I will work 3 days a week and only need my grandma and grandpa to worry about the squirt for school one day a week.
On to knitting news. I am almost done with the sweater for KandC's baby g. Its gonna be so cute. I just have the sleeves and to sew the whole thing up. AGH my needles have been on this project for too long. I missed the turkey KAL and now they just started another one. Gotta get moving on. Still have the corset-t, oh how slow can this be. I am also really considering making a bunch of fetching for my neices. they would love 'em weel see.
On the house front. Can you believe they redid the paperwork and they DID IT WRONG! At least they figured it out before I came down to sign.OMG. I am supposed to sign now on MONDAY well see how it goes. Gotta get :o)

AGH!!!
The only saving grace is there are enough baskets to go around. Well if you don't count the pile of clothes behind the door. Oh dear the world is going to end.
Well we are getting ready for family. My two sisters and their families are coming for T-day. This should be interesting. One will stay in the 5th wheel and one in my dads office which I am personally gonna call NEAT to come in and clean him up. OH MY GOODNESS. I was looking for a manilla folder and looked in the file cabinet drawers and guess whats in them Only one large drawer has any papers in it. One has lightbulbs and the rest are practically empty. I could scream. I teased him over the phone. That "I was gonna tidy up" I think he had a coronary on the other end. But seriously I wouldn't but somebody should. :o) He is such a nerd everything is up on top unorganized/organized per his specifications. And my sister is supposed to sleep in there with a three year old. Ha he will " clean sweep " it for him. They are all gonna stay for about a week it should be lots of fun. I'm actually gonna be off for a couple of the days so I can visit. And show them the sites. (that should take 1/2 a day) this town is small.
Well I had probably better go. lunch is over yum yum
OH yeah the knitting: still working on the baby sweater, almost done just need to make the sleeves. Then I can do the last KAL and maybe this one too. I put the sweater on my dishcloth needles and I can not give up. (as I drag myself across the floor to the needles). Also considering making a few scarves for the staff at work. That could be fun. We'll see. LIL Sis mailed me she needs to make " cheeta girl" ponchos for dau and friends maybe 8 of them. What a nerd. See if I can help.

Todays the day
Still knitting away on the sweater for my friends lil girlie, and found a pattern for some leggings. I think she love 'em. All in pink. I forgot My mom went to Santa Fe and went to hobby lobby. She set me up. Ten new skeins of P&C. fall colors. Dad about had a coniption fit. But he has been enjoying alos waiting and guessing what the next KAL will look like. So he did not have that bad of a cow.
We allready have plotted out where we are gonna put our house. Markers and everything. Every time we drive up the driveway. We stop and ask Lil d " whats going there" to which now he answers in a bored tone" our house" poor little guy. I feel like this is taking forever, I can't imagine how he feels. He probably thought it would never happen.
Well I am going for my drug screen and health screen in the am and hopefully can schedule a few days for the rest of this month. I have yet to notify my current boss. I'm just gonna cut back to one day a week w/them till I am for sure on the schedule. Its gonna drive me crazy. But it would be even more crazy to stay where I am. I don't feel like I belong anywhere, my opinion doesn't count and I can get canceled at any time. I am sick of worrying if I'm gonna get enough hours. And even right now I'm really not. Only 32 hrs a week. At the hospital Its for sure 36 and if I want 48 its up to me. And now with Big d working I have to leave an hour early, missing an hour of work really cuts into the pocketbook. Esp when your not getting enough hours to start out. Only thing I'll miss is working upstairs. Most of the staff is very friendly and I've been working with them for over a year now. They are very supportive and friendly.

Allmost. but not yet
So any way the preparations for Thanksgiving are underway. The sisters are coming out to visit. Should be interesting. The menu being prepared. And all the while the great uncles are just plugging along, Uncle J is geeting better. but had gotten a touch of the stomach flu. What a grouch ha. We all had it what a bummer and we thought he came home late enough it wouldn't hit him. But dad the last one and him both got it. Both have recovered thank goodness. Mom Big d and Lild, uncle B and I all got it, and I think we got it the worst. :( But now all are healty. It has certainally been a chalenge taking care of the two guys, but it easier now that Uncle J is home, at least they can be together. We are still waiting for test results.
On the house again the Rocky Road Gravel is gonna come out this week to put the foundation, septic and dig the trenches for the lines, YIPEE!!!! Now its just hurry up and wait. I'm gonna go crazy this paperwork stuff is just a total mess.
On the knitting front. I am working on a small sweater for my friends DAU I all ready made a hat, mittens and scarf. Also printed the Dishcloth KAL its a turkey but I haven't started it. Cause the lil sweater is on my Bamboo needles. Still working on the Coset-t from Knitty gritty. Oh this is so slow. This will not be a FO for a long time. Oh yeah I made the cutest thing the other day. We use the coffee pot for hot water only, and use instant coffee or tea whatever we want. Well the coffee pot took a dump and so we've been using the teakettle. Well My mom has this cute Mikasa one shes had forever, and it is enamel over metal. But on the lid it has this little pointy bronze handle. So I made it a cozy. Its brown P&C cotton.and it turned out so cute. pics to follow soon. My mom had a fit. She loves that knida stuff. And it really needed it, Big d burned his finger on it the other morning, half asleep trying to make coffee @ 0600 in the morning.
Speeking of Big d NEW JOB started this last week. He's oriented all week and now will start in the morning. One of the AM nurses is so sweet and agreed to come in @0530 so I could get out of here to go and get him. Oh well I had better go .

The Knitting Must Go On
I allready finished the hat forK&C's lilg. Still working on the scrf. I'm doing it with a cable so its taking alittle longer to do. Even with only 12 stitches. But it is turning out so pretty and dainty. I'm pretty sure due to K getting another skein that I wil have enough for a small blanket too. Ohh or maybe even a little Poncho. That would be too cute. The ideas are spinning around in my head.
And of course still working on dischcloths, and even found some new patterns. A bunch I can do for my lil sis All texas theme.
I'm trying to find some special yarn for a new clapotis. I really love wearing mine. I think the next one will be a little shorter though. The black one I have allready is huge ,but it sure does keep me warm and toasty. I really love it !!!!! :o)
Well not much else has changed still plugging away at work and trying to stay warm It was mostly in the 40's all day. 32 this last morning when I headed home from work. BRRRR

Forgot the KNITTING!!!
Still working on the blanket for LIL d. slow going and still adding different blocks to it.
A hat scarf and mitten combo in light pink/black for K and C's baby 4months old now.I probably will knit up a blanket too with some of my leftovers.
Still working on the corset-t slow going and very boring, i usually do this in front of the tv.
And whatever dishcloth is going on however due to lack of black yarn I did not do the october one and it was really cute a candy corn/illusion style.
Waiting
On a lighter note Lil d is doing great in school. He is a whole new boy. His teacher says hes one of the best in the class and most of all of his papers come back with great marks. We have been helping him alot with practicing for the spelling tests and he is getting 100's on those. He is making alot of nice little friends, and talks about them frequently. This week we are going on a field trip, I'm not sure where but I think it might be a pumkin patch/ranch. His teacher called and asked if either of us could chaparone. And I called back and left a message that we could both. We'll see what happens. He is still doing Karate due to the weather we had to cut back to once per week which is kinda hard cause he forgets some of the moves, but with the rain and now coming snow. It was just too much to wait around after school for the class to start. Trying to get him to practice at home has kinda been hard. He just wants to play.
Well the uncles are still hanging tough. UB is as onery as ever and really giving us a hard time. He is so used to UJ being around and doing everything for him. And then worrying about UJ in the hospital has been wearing on him too. UJ is not doing so hot. Lots of prayers are needed. They had to put a chest tube this week and are still waiting for all the tests to be done and results to come back. He is getting so bored, poor guy. We try to take UB to see him daily but then he gets worn out and just now got over a cold so then had to back off and just call sometimes. I think they are going crazy apart from each other.
Well work is going okay, still at the hospital. Just a few nights a week and waiting for an orientation for the other hospital. I was gonna do a few days at home health but starting that right now was just too much for me, with school and the uncles doing there thing. So I put that on hold for now. We'll see maybe in a couple of weeks. Well I had better go I know its been a while since my last post gotta get. :o)

BUSY WEEK
Our house is gonna go thru just waiting on the permits. We went on friday and then there was a power outage that lasted from friday @3pm till Sat 6pm how tedious. No water or any thing we had to dip into the cow trough for the toilets( good weve got that thing). This only reinforces dads reasoning for getting a big gravity tank. So I guess thats the next thing on the list
Gotta get

Happy Birthday to me!!!
Some finished objects two dishcloths from the dishcloth kal they turned out pretty and lots of fun.
This is what our little country road looked like before the last frost. I don't have an update but its definetelly not as pretty as this. Every thing on the side of the road is dead and just sticks. Bummer!
Oh well gotta get

New House
On the knitting front still working on a blanket for lil d for his new room. just squares of all different stuff knitted together. Still working on the corset-t it slow going very tedious. And good intentions and all I've slacked off on the roses for the womens league, OOPS. But I've picked out a fuzzy yarn for the cancer survivors get away and hope to get started on it very soon. Been plugging away on the dishcloths too. I think I'm gonna make a giant one as a bib for one of the uncles. So far we haven't killed each other although its come close. They are very set in their ways. AGH!
I think I need to work on some relaxation therapy thats my third outburst just in this post. Oh well gotta get
Monday, September 18, 2006
So on the knitting front still working on the corset -t about 1/3 done slow going it gets knid of tedious. This part of the pattern is just ribbing. K2P2. Also still working on small dishcloth size cloths with the letteres of LILD's name on it and looking for cute pics to fill in the extra blocks. I'm doing it in dark and medium blue acrylic for the boy. Its gonna need to be washed frequently. And of course there is the Dishcloth-KAL, currently on row 17 waiting for thext set of rows. This one I'm doing in "daisy ombre" its a pretty lacy thing. Probably will never see a dish. But oh well. I think the next ones I do will be in colors for our new kitchen. Yes we are waiting for the final approval on our new house. We can't wait. Just waiting for the road to dry out enough so we can get the trailer down it to trade in at the dealer. What stress. Wait Wait Wait. agh I'm going nuts. Took my mom and her friend to see it they both thought it was perfect for us. Its a small 3 bed,2 bath. We are gonna build a dining nook for the kitchen and eventually build on to it. Lild has allready decided how to do his room.
I am probably gonna get a second job here for the winter. The job I'm at now I am only getting 24 hrs. So I've gotta get some more. I spoke with one of the gals from the Womens group and she gave me her daughters phone number. I'm gonna see the owner of a home health co here in town in the after noon, after I sleep a little. The usually only work MON- FRI 8-5. Who knows this might be a new adventure for me. Of course I couldn't do the whole day but if I could pick up a few patients here and there throughout the week while Lild is in school. And Big D at work. It just might work. So I guess I had better sign out :)

I called my mom and they were having a "super" time in a motel with them(I hope they don't kill each other) Oh well thing should settle down once they all get home (yeah right) But we will survie and its the best thing for them. My Grandpa would be so proud. Of them for acctually coming and us for bringing them. We are probably gonna need alot of prayers. Big D has been working his but off cleaning and making space in the barn and getting there bed linens ready. What a trooper the house is spotless. (for now)

Saturday, August 26, 2006
My Mom and Dad are so funny. We have some cows visiting and the owner brought over a small ATV to let Dad keep an eye on them. So here my parents are driving around on the ATV and mending fences with a little wagon on the back and their dog Patch in between them. Not the picture you would expect. I laughed histerically when Mom told me what they had been up to . Too bad I was asleep a picture would have been great. I might just have to " wreak" a part of the fence just to catch them at it again. For prosperity. HAHAHA.
Oh yeah still working on the dishclothes I have finished a kitty one in burgundy
blue cabled stitch jan mid month
and in progress aug mid month burgundy and ecru very cool and enjoying it alot. All these new and interesting patterns. Can't wait to apply them to a blanket or sweater.:)

I got to go to HOBBY LOBBY yipee!!! I found the rest of what I needed for MY secrect pal and am going to wrap it up tomorrow. I all ready had a few small things from Wally world, but I had to get the " gift" Its so cool. Then we went to JOanns and I got for myself a new pair of needles. I got these bamboo ones size 7 for the dishcloth knitalong. I have allready made a few dc's and am really enjoying the cool cable patterns. I can't wait to apply them to a blanket or sweater. Thats the main reason for joining. Plus and excuse to buy cotton yarn. By the way ,I am loving the way these new needles feel. The yarn just glides along. I am just going to have to get started on some new project. I also finished a couple of baby hats. I almost gave one to Kathy-mom(a friend at work) but then remembered I want a picture first. Its purple with matching booties.( MOMsfavorite color). And then another one mint green. but it needs a small bit of lace to make a hat band.
While in Santa Fe we even made it to the OLIVE GARDEN. Wow what a treat. You don't realize what you had till its gone. The restaurants in our small town anre all small and MOM &POP which are good, but there are definetelly no Itailianos living here. I miss the selection of foods. WAHWAHWAH. All right enough of my whining. Have a great day and be good the next project might be for you.....

PICTURES OF CLAPOTIS
CAMPING PHOTOS
Well the day started great. It was beautiful, Big D had a couple of nibbles and caught two small mouth striped bass. Then the clouds started up and we decided to go back to our tent....
We stopped at the side of the dam for a couple of pics.
Then the rain started so our tent get soaked . It didn't have much of a chance esp since we lost the top and have a couple of tarps tied on it.
The storm then calmed down a bit and this is what it looked like. I acctually had to park the Jeep on top of the tent to keep it from blowing away. We had to cut out the bootom to let the water out of it. The poles were bent and we had to throw it away. While the storm raged on we had to take it apart. Lil D and the dogs stayed in the camp ground lean to.

We are all doing well and enjoying the RAINY DROUGHT.. Go figure. some of the local roads by our house are washed out. I finally got to mail off my neice MONSTERs poncho. Can't wait for the reaction. Well is almost scholl time oh dear. Lil d is so very excited, He can't wait to get started back up. I'm afraid this summer has been a little boring. Esp with me working nights and sleeping days. He's hanging in there though. New news on the home front. My two great uncles are going to come and live with us. It should be interesting. At least a couple of months. Due to having to order and wait for set up of there new mobile home. They possibly have a buyer for there home in Yucca Valley CAL. But otherwise its been same old, same old. So I'll sign off :)

Finally off for a day!!!
I'm finally off today. Wow what a long week. Its really a drain working night shift. I'm thankfull that Lil D has been out of school, so I don't have to try to keep up with his schedule too. Agh. We've been doing alot of fishing and will probably go again tomorrow. Give the nerd something to do for summer break. Its hard living so far from town, to keep him entertained. Tonight we are going to a friends to watch rodeo practice. That should be interesting... Pics to follow.
This pic is of lil d just messing around. Now he thinks he has super powers due to watching "Sky HIgh" A kids movie about super heros. Its actually a pretty cool movie.
I've signed up with a color swap and am so excited. I can't wait to get shopping. Its gonna be so fun. Oh yeah the pattern I was using for MONSTERS poncho turned out to be bogus. Two paralelograms that are exactly the same can not match up to make a poncho.. FROGGED it and now am starting over. Straight knit stich. Gotta get it done fast. Only have 2 days to finish knitting sew it and embelish it with the fun fur and then mail it. Talk about cutting it close. In fact I had better get off of here.:)

Quote for the day
Well our weather has been hot. 80's. We've been putting in our garden. Have all the seeds germinating on the porch in cut water bottles. And they are growing like crazy. We had our garden in california. So now it will be interesting to see how it is out here in New Mexico. I have been researching alot at the library, on gardening and crop rotation. We've set aside a small 20x20 plot and have tilled and fenced it in. Now just have to add some potting soil and sand to our clay ground, and see what happens. Hopefully its close enough to the house the elk don't break in. It should be interesting. Well I had etter get lunch is over. Have a great day:)

Think Pink Challenge
According to BreastCancer.org, a woman in the United states is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes! Over 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed each year, along with over 50,000 new cases of non-invasisve breast cancer. Breast cancer is the leacing cancer among white and African-American women, with the latter being more likely to die as a result. With statistics like these, it is very likely that if you're a woman reading this post, you have had, or know of someone who has had, a run-in of one sort or another with this incidious disease. It is terrifying, life-altering, and it cuts to the very core of our womanhood. But at the same time, I never cease to be amazed at the tremendous courage, encouragement and resilience I see from women who are fighting and those who have survived this cruel killer. There is much that needs to be done to fight this disease, and there is no shortage of opportunities to encourage and support those who are fighting it, to celebrate with its survivors and to support efforts to find a cure. Even though October is the official month for increasing Breast Cancer awareness, tell that to women who are diagnosed with this disease in February, May or December. Why wait until October when there are hundreds of thousands of women, their families and friends who are dealing with this dreaded disease at this very moment? There are a number of ways we can help, but there's one in particular that God has laid on my heart. My prayer is that through Soulful Knitting Ministries, we can collectively knit (or crochet) 1,000 pink scarves for women facing breast cancer. By taking the time to knit these scarves, and praying for the health and healing of their recipients in the process, we can make a tremendous difference in the lives of these women. God has shown me an image of a photograph of a mountain of beautiful pink scarves. By knitting this mountain, one scarf at a time, imagine the lives we can touch. So, I invite each of you to participate in the 1st Annual Think Pink Challenge. Here are the parameters:WHAT:A pink scarf (knit or crochet) in the pattern of your choice, using the yarn(s) of your choice.HOW MANY:At least one, but prayerfully, as many as you can between now and the end of September (more details to follow). Imagine if each of us committed to just one scarf a month between now and September! And of course, be sure to tell as many knitters about this as you can... the more the merrier!WHERE:Please send the scarves to me and I will arrange to have them sent to the American Cancer Society in time for their October Awareness drive. Besides, by sending them to me, I can have that photograph of the pink mountain taken and posted here! :)

SPECIAL NOTE - CALLING ALL DESIGNERS!!!If you'd like to design a special pink scarf for this project, please do so. Be sure to let me know that you have designed it when you send it in... 12 talented knitters could have their scarf pattern featured in a fundraising calender to raise even more money to fight Breast Cancer.
